Operation Sixth Form Transition

Dear Prospective Sixth Former,

Thank you for choosing to apply to our Sixth Form for September 2020. If you have not yet applied, you can still apply through our open enrollment process in August; details about this will be provided very soon.

At this time of year we would normally be welcoming students to our Sixth Form Taster Session Day and summer school events. Unfortunately, at this difficult time, it has not been possible to run these events. However, you still have an opportunity to familiarise yourself with you chosen subjects/course.

Welcome to Operation Sixth Form Transition! Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find out about your chosen sixth form subjects/course and become fully prepare for your Year 12 learning over the summer.

On this page below, you will find links to the Year 11 into Year 12 transition work, which would normally be issued to prospective students on our Sixth Form Taster Session Day. If you have applied to the Sixth Form, it is important for you to complete the transition work for your chosen subjects/course. This work will not only prepare you for your chosen subjects/course, but it will also give you an insight into the topics you will cover and the type of work you will complete. This work will support your wider knowledge and understanding for your subjects/course.

If you are undecided about what subject/course you want to pursue next, please look through the transition work for the many subjects/courses we offer in the Sixth Form, there is something for everyone! If you have made alternative post-16 choices, it would be beneficial for you to attempt the work for the subjects/course which might be relevant to what you would like to pursue in the future.

If you have any queries, please contact Ms S Voutsinou, Head of Year 12 or myself on yshah@bordgrng.bham.sch.uk
